Wash your hands first.
Clean the piercing using a saline solution 2x a day until it’s fully healed. Don’t have any solution on hand? I have options at my shop.
For ear piercings, sleep on an airplane pillow or piercing pillow to prevent the piercing from healing crooked.
Don’t Do These Things

Use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or other harsh stuff to clean piercings
Touch the piercing, as this can cause irritation and bacteria to enter
Twist, turn, or fidget with the jewelry
Dunk it in lakes, pools, hot tubs, or other bodies of water until healed
Spray perfume or hair products near it or put makeup on it
Swap the jewelry before it’s fully healed
